Meals from the Marketplace has been an e-newsletter since the year 2000. It consists of essays, columns and articles written by Ed Telfeyan. Ed is an attorney and law professor who has been writing OpEd pieces for a local Sacramento newspaper and, occasionally, for the Daily Journals published by the California Bar Association.
Although many of his pieces deal with politics and current events, Ed also not infrequently addresses weighty philosophical issues and far less weighty subjects from the world of sports and entertainment. Over the years, the newsletter has grown from an initial circulation of a few close friends and relatives to a regular readership in the thousands covering all five inhabited continents.
The title is intended to incorporate the “food for thought” and “marketplace of ideas” concepts. The hope is that by putting the newsletter on the Web, the thoughts expressed in Ed’s writing can serve to elicit thoughts from readers, thereby giving real significance to the original intent of the title.
